Martyr of the Amazon: The Life of Sr. Dorothy Stang

Author and Biographer Sr. Roseanne Murphy of Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, will be speaking about the inspiring life and work of Sr. Dorothy Stang on Sunday, April 27th at 7:00 pm at St. Athanasius Parish, 160 N. Rengstorff Ave., Mountain View.

For 31 years, Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN, was a missionary, living with and working for the poor in the Amazon Forest of Brazil. Because of her work for justice and for the preservation of the Amazon Forest, on February 12, 2005, she was assassinated on a lonely country road in the small village of Boa Esparan├ža in Para, Brazil.
